BUET-NTNU Linkage Project: MSc-Sandwich program within the petroleum sector in Asia and Africa
The Department of Petroleum & Mineral Resources Engineering (PMRE) is pleased to announce the launching of a linkage project between the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU) and BUET. The project is formally titled “MSc-sandwich program within the petroleum sector in Asia and Africa.” The objective of the program is to develop one center in Asia and one in Africa, together with NTNU, where the majority of all MSc education in this region of the world within the petroleum sector will be performed in future. The participants are NTNU and the University of Stavanger (UoS) from Norway, BUET from Asia, and the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (EMU) from Africa. The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) is financing the project. Starting in 2007, a total of 10 students (6 in year 2007 and 4 in year 2008) from Bangladesh will receive scholarship for Masters degree in petroleum engineering. The selected students will study in Norway for the first 2 semesters and the last 2 semesters in BUET. The degree will be jointly awarded by the two participating institutions. Professor Dr. A. M. M.
