|||
|
Dr. Robert Noyce Simulation Laboratory is a new addition to the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BUET. This laboratory was funded by generous gift from Intel Foundation and Intel employees and is sponsored by IBA and AABEASV ( www.aabeasv.org). This laboratory is equipped with 39 Pentium-4 microcomputers with a high speed modern server. All computers in this lab are now connected into a common network. Different types of simulation software will be available in those computers which will be used by the undergraduate and postgraduate students of this department. The lab was inaugurated by the BUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Alee Murtuza on 11 December 2002. Ex-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nooruddin Ahmed, Deans, Heads, four executive members of IBA and distinguished guests graced the occasion. |

About 600 undergraduate students of EEE Dept. are now using the Robert Noyce lab in the current semester that started from February 2003. EEE Dept. is utilizing the facilities of the lab for simulation required for all the circuit and electronic lab courses. The department is also conducting short courses for UG students on PSpice and Matlab. IBA has taken initiative in acquiring software from Ansoft and other sources at discount. It is our expectation to have the software for the lab by the year 2003 and then the faculty members of the department will be able to use the lab for research. |
