The Directorate of Continuing Education was established through a BUET syndicate resolution held in February, 1995. The DCE has been established in view of long demand for continuous professional development of the engineers in Bangladesh to cope with the intense global development of Science and Technology. The objective of the DCE is to assist the development, up gradation and renewal of knowledge & skill in the field of Science & Technology for Teachers,

Engineers, Scientists, Managers, Planners, Administrators and other groups through:

• Dissemination of new knowledge and techniques, and

• Training in established knowledge and techniques.

The DCE is an academic center as well as the interface between DCE/BUET and different development sectors.
