He was born in Feni Bangladesh on 7th March 1943. He obtained the B. Sc. (Honours). & M. Sc. in Chemistry in 1963 and 1964 respectively from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined the Department of Chemistry, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, Dhaka in 1965 as a Lecturer. He received his Ph.D degree from Manchester University, U.K. in 1976 in the field of synthetic Organic Chemistry. He worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in medicinal Chemistry; Pharmacy Department, Manchester University, U.K. June`1976 to may 1977. He became Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in 1970, 1979 and 1987 respectively. He served as the chairman of the Department for 15 years. He also acted as the Dean of the faculty of Engineering for two years. He has already supervised (10) ten M. Phil. students and one Ph.D. student. He has published about eleven papers in international and national Journals. His present research interest is Natural Product Chemistry. | ||
