The official name of the organization shall be THE BANGLADESH UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY ALUMNI FEDERATION, hereinafter referred to as the "BUET Alumni Federation". The BUET Alumni Federation is responsible for organizing and coordinating various alumni related activities and maintaining contact with them including

To strengthen connection and fellowship among Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) alumni, by fostering individual growth, enhancing ties with BUET and otherwise.

To build commitment, involvement and financial support for enhancing, promoting and upholding the image of BUET.

To assist BUET in its efforts in achieving academic excellence by enhancing the quality of education and research, and by establishing state-of-the-art educational and research facilities.

To promote the interests of the students and graduates of BUET by organizing career counseling, seminars, symposia, workshops and lectures, and by institution and award of scholarships and fellowships.

To act as a coordinating organization for the affiliated associations, chapters, clubs or the like representing different groups of alumni of BUET.

To enhance and uphold professional competency among the BUET Alumni.

To provide support to the BUET Alumni and Students and their families in distress and to organize humanitarian activities in times of national calamities.

To facilitate intellectual exchanges between BUET and advanced universities/ institutions in other countries.

To arrange social activities such as reunions, picnics, dinners and cultural programs for greater social cohesion among the BUET Alumni and Students.
