Training Programme on Management of e-Resources Inaugurated

Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) is the highest professional body of the scientists of eminence of the country which contributes to enhance the technological development and popularize science education in the country.

 

BAS is coordinating a national on-line journal network in collaboration with the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP), Oxford, UK for the last three years. INASP through this network is providing scientific Journals, books, literature, etc. the teachers, students, researchers, scientists in all the member countries and they  are supplies more then 5000 journals to all its member organizations. A good number of universities & research organizations is participating in the Network.

 

In this connection 31 March, 2010 BAS inaugurated the two day training program on Management of e-Resources in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) and INASP in the BUET Seminar room.

 

Eighty participants particularly librarians Information Technology Officers working with all the public and private universities are taking part in the two-days training program.

 

Professor Dr. M. Shamsher Ali, President, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) and Vice-Chancellor, Southest University inaugurated  the training program to day. Among others spoke in the inaugural session were Professor Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). National Professor Dr. A K M Aminul Haque, Professor Dr. Naiyyum Choudhury and Dr. M. A. Mazed of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS).
